Christchurch Music Festival

10th November 2017

The Waihi Choir had a great day out at the recent Christchurch Music Festival.

We left for Christchurch at 7:30am ready for a rehearsal at 10:00am at Horncastle Arena. It was the first time that all the school choirs rehearsed with the Children’s Symphony Orchestra and Band, which was fantastic!!

The boys then had some activities for the afternoon with Mr Brighouse and then it was Lights Camera Action for the evening performance. The evening show was a musical and visual spectacular with one of the standout items being the mass choir version of Toto’s ‘Africa’. The boys had really worked hard on learning all the songs required and it was thrilling to see and hear all their hard work payoff.

The show finished at 9:15pm and then it was the big trip home for some very tired boys (and staff!) after a big day out. It was fantastic to see so many parents make the effort to come through to Christchurch for the show and we know how much your boys were thrilled to see you.

Thank you boys for all the effort and dedication you put into making this day happen and we look forward to being part of the 2018 Christchurch Schools Music Festival.
