Night at the Museum - Waihi Annual Dinner and Auction

9th November 2018

Our Dinner and Auction evening was yet another success this year, and with the theme of  ‘Night at the Museum’ we were raising funds for the further development of our museum and associated historical artefacts.

The evening started with a free glass of bubbles and some nibbles, followed by a welcome speech from our Headmaster, then some fabulous entertainment from Starbound Studios performers Abhi Bharathan, Keevah Donaldson and Sophie Vaughan.

With Rod Sands once again at the helm leading the auction, he soon managed to start emptying the pockets of the gathered guests.  We are extremely grateful to Rod for his expertise over the years, he always makes the evening very entertaining, and we hate to think how we’d ever cope without him!

There was some fierce bidding throughout the evening, with many of those present doing a lot of bidding but not always managing to secure the items they wanted, and we even phone bids coming in from those who couldn’t be with us for the night

The generosity of families, friends and the wider community of the school has been overwhelming, both in the lead up to the event and on the night.

The individual ‘thanks’ would be too long to list here, so perhaps we can cover it all by saying thank you to the organisational team; to those who contributed gifts, promises or donations in any form; to those who bought tickets; to those who decorated, cooked, served or any other was contributed to the running of the evening; and to those to tidied up afterwards!
