St Andrew’s Sports Fixture

On Wednesday 31st October, St Andrew’s College took the trip down State Highway 1 to Waihi for the annual summer fixture. Although the weather was not looking promising earlier in the week, it played ball and we were able to get a full days sport in.

The fixture consisted of three cricket matches and a tennis fixture of 6 players each team.

The fixture was played in its usual competitive spirit. In the cricket, the 2nd XI and Junior XI had convincing wins, while the 1st XI were beaten by a strong St Andrew’s side. There was a number of standout performances with the bat throughout the day.

•  Mitchell Suddaby     94        (1st XI)

•  Mitchell Johnson      55ret   (Junior XI)

•  Liam Suddaby          55ret   (Junior XI)

•  Jacob Adam             50        (Junior XI)

In the tennis, Waihi was beaten 2-10 by a very skilled St Andrew’s group of players. A strong performance by Tom Taylor, winning both of his two matches.

Overall, it was a successful and pleasing day for all involved.
